Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones ~ Proverbs 16:24

Grace

Grace. Such a small word, yet it has so much meaning, so much depth.
Tonight at church we were told to take 60 seconds and write down our definition of grace. The first thing that came to mind was regeneration. I love that word, but honestly it never would have come to mind had someone not said the word recently. Yet, 'regeneration' seems lacking when you are defining grace in reference to God. So, on my way home I had a little more time to think about it. What came to mind was rather simple, yet it is so packed with meaning, so amazing, because we are all so unworthy of God's grace.
I guess now, if I were asked to put it into words, I would simply say grace is unmerited love and help for our regeneration or spiritual renewal.

How Would You Define Joy?

How would you define joy? The question seems simple enough, but most of us would have a hard time answering it.
I find joy in many things. God has given us many things that add this element to our lives, and I am so thankful for that. However, with all the things that are thrown at us throughtout our lives, it can be very hard to stay focused. If we remember that ALL true joy comes from God, then we are on the right path. Joy can be anything. It can be a baby laughing, or your son scoring a goal, feeling the sun on your face, or hearing waves crashing on the beach. Those are all things that bring joy, but not a definition of joy.
I read a definition of joy recently that really hit home, it said:
Joy: the unwavering trust that God knows what He’s doing and has blessed me with the opportunity to be a part of it… not despite what’s happening in my life but because of it.

When trials seem to be coming at us from all sides, and we can't seem to even catch our breath before the next trial starts, that is when it is most important to remember, our real, true joy comes from God.
